There's just SO much confusion surrounding diets and available information (eggs, anyone?)
The sad truth is that by now, we all know that diets don't work, but we keep hoping for that miracle and trying the next diet that gets hyped.

Not only are we disappointed each time a diet doesn't work, we are continuously sabotaging our body's future ability to efficiently burn calories for fuel...and we end up gaining weight easier each time it happens.
All of this effort is exhausting! But You should know...
You are not alone.
And you are not a failure.

The diet industry is a 70 billion dollar a year industry.

They intentionally create patterns of deprivation and restriction in the form of empty promises disguised as "quick-fixes."
They intentionally create a cycle of hope and despair that breeds desperation and keeps people willing to try or do anything to lose weight.

It's a malicious, punishing cycle, and it is not your fault.
The Diet Industry WANTS us to fail.
A scoop (or extra scoop) of protein won't help you process your pain or keep you from eating that pint of ice cream in the freezer.

That prepackaged "healthy" meal won't help you deal with stressful days that make you want to to eat a whole bag of chips, or numb that stress with wine.
The diet industry is full of quick-fix false promises and gimmicks designed to keep us buying their products. They offer pills or shots that will work for a while, but they don't address the root cause of weight gain.
So, what's the answer?
Imagine...
eating without feelings of guilt or worrying about gaining back weight. That's what will happen when you follow a lifestyle change plan that:

1. Identifies underlying reasons for overeating (emotional eating, stress eating, portion sizes, areas of temptation);

2. Provides a meal plan tailored to your specific needs to reach your goal weight (loss or gain);

3. Provides actionable changes aimed at breaking through barriers to your weight goals; and

4. Provides you with accountability and more importantly, support!
Can I Really Help You?
Many people come to me and tell me that they'll just get a script for GLP-1 medications, or they'll just follow a diet their friend recommends. Here are two real life stories reflecting both of those situations:

Nia
Nia was put on a popular GLP-1 and promptly lost 20 lbs. in her first month. She had insurance that covered her medications because she was pre-diabetic. In six months, Nia reached her goal weight and followed up with her doctor. He was very congratulatory...before telling her that her insurance would no longer cover her medications because she was no longer "obese." Nia was forced to stop taking her medication and gained back the weight she'd lost. Why? Because she made no changes to her habits or food choices. She lost weight because the medication made her less hungry, so she ate less. Once her hunger came back, she resorted to her old habits and the weight returned.

If you're using a GLP-1 medication to lose weight, I provide a specific program tailored to your unique needs. I provide additional support to ensure your weight stays off for good...even after you stop taking the shot, or get to maintenance. Considering a GLP-1? Steve
Steve struggled with weight loss for most of his life. His friend, Todd, recently started an intermittent fasting diet and dropped 30 lbs. in three months. Todd shared his fasting plan with Steve, who expected the same results and was excited to begin the diet. Steve followed the plan accordingly but ended up GAINING 5 lbs. during his three months on the diet. Why? Because he was following the calorie needs of his friend, who needed more calories than Steve. Therefore, even though he was technically "fasting," he was taking in extra calories. Steve should have followed a plan tailored to his specific needs instead of a fad diet.

Meet Your Nutrition Coach

Hi, I'm Jenn!
I've always been interested in wellness and nutrition. And, I've always tried to help others by really listening and offering whatever support I can. That's how I arrived at this calling, with my certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Nutrition Coach (scan the code below to verify my credentials). What better way to help others, than to be in a position to offer support , guidance, and knowledge to those struggling with their weight goals?
I can relate to your frustration and challenges because I've been there before. In my 20's I was healthy, vibrant, and fit. I never had to worry about what foods to eat, or even think about food at all for that matter. But I struggled through the years - having children, a busy life, a move, a major career overhaul and a wedding, not to mention getting older and fighting hormones - plus years of yo-yo dieting made it extremely hard to keep the weight off. You can see my personal story in the short video below. I want you to know that you are not alone in this journey, and I understand what you are going through.

Through the years, in my 30's and 40's I became so busy that I stopped making myself a priority.
You probably know the routine. The kids need to be taken everywhere (school, soccer, etc.), they need to do their homework. The husband needs to be fed. You're working a full-time or part-time job and probably commuting there, so your time is limited.

Before you know it, your meals increasingly consist of fast food and quick, unhealthy options.

You no longer have time for that walk or workout.

Your stress level is through the roof, and the idea of self-soothing with food or wine sounds like heaven.

One day you wake up and realize you're 40 lbs. overweight, and you swear you're going to start a diet to eat healthier and exercise more.

That lasts for a few weeks or months, and you make some progress. Hooray!

You start relaxing on your intention to eat healthier, though, and slip back into the unhealthy habits that led to the weight gain in the first place. Before you know it, you're now 50 lbs. overweight.

This cycle continues, over and over again, until unbeknownst to you, your body's metabolism starts making adjustments to make it harder for future you to lose weight.

Now, no matter what you do, you can't seem to lose anything, or you're losing at an extremely slow rate, and you get frustrated, and think, "why bother?!"

I've sat where you are before and I understand how frustrating it is to keep trying and feeling like a failure. To keep hoping that THIS time, it'll be different.
It's taken a lot of time, but I've learned that I'm not a failure, and neither are you! The only failure is the diet, food, and beauty industries. We're being constantly bombarded each day with unattainable images of beauty and unrealistic health standards...all the while having plates of food made for five served to us when we eat out. It's maddening!
Achieving my certification was an eye-opener for me...the biggest one was learning that we don't need to "diet" - to deprive ourselves and feel miserable to lose weight and keep it off! By uncovering our emotional triggers - the things or feelings that drive us to soothe our pain with food (or wine, or whatever) - we can create the tools and habits we need to succeed in our weight loss efforts.
If you're not addressing the root issues that are holding you back on your journey, you won't ever be able to achieve lasting results.
This journey is about more than just food. It's about building resilience, giving yourself grace to make mistakes, and having the grit to get back on the wagon.
Learning to cope with the emotional tidal waves that lead us to overindulge or justify bad behavior, is the key to a healthier way of living.
The truth is that we all need to put in the work, and it can be challenging for sure, but you'll never have to face it alone. You can trust me to be your guide and help you every step of the way.
